Frisco TX AC Beginning the Change Over to Puron

Times are changing at Frisco Air Conditioning, change with us! R-22 is a refrigerant that has been widely used in air conditioners and heat pumps for many years. It has been deemed hazardous to the environment and it will begin phase-out by law in the year 2010. The replacement refrigerant for R-22, R-410A, is being produced to meet the rising demand for new air conditioner and heat pumps systems. R-410A, sold under the trademarked names Puron, Genetron R410A, and AZ-20. Unlike many other haloalkane refrigerants it does not contribute to ozone depletion, and is therefore becoming more widely used as ozone-depleting refrigerants like R-22 are phased out. However, it has a high global warming potential of 1725 (1725 times the effect of carbon dioxide), similar to that of R-22. Frisco TX AC is ready for the change over, training our technicians about the requirements regarding this new refrigerant, and stocking up on new Air Conditioning Units capable of taking advantage of this new coolant.
